Building a health-literate community

Health information should lead to better decisions.

We help young people understand health, explore choices through play and lead informed conversations.

Why AFHEG exists

Information alone
is not enough.

Young people need health information they can understand, question and use.

From hearing to understanding

Make it clear.
Make it relevant.
Make it usable.

AFHEG connects digital learning, serious games and youth leadership to make health information usable.

What would
you do?

That question takes learning beyond listening, into choices people can explore together.

Super Bugs Clash: choices, conversation and shared learning.

At the game table

A choice.
A consequence.
A conversation.

Would you share leftover antibiotics? What would you do if a friend suggested self-medicating?

In Super Bugs Clash, players work through decisions like these together. A facilitator helps them question their reasoning and connect the game to antibiotic use, people, animals and the environment.

Beyond one session

Young people carry the conversation forward.

Health Defenders develops young people as peer communicators and community-engagement actors. The work is about learning to explain an issue, listen to questions and share information responsibly.

Smarty extends that learning online, with courses, videos, quizzes and games learners can revisit.
